Platinum Carbon Black Ink

This pigment-based carbon ink is prized by artists for its deep black color, excellent water resistance, and lightfast performance.

Platinum Carbon Black is a pigment-based fountain pen ink, rather than a traditional dye-based formula. It’s especially well-suited for fountain pens and brush pens on papers where you want the ink to sit on the surface instead of soaking in.

Highly regarded by artists, this waterproof carbon ink is a go-to choice for ink washes and mixed media work. Once dry, lines stay crisp and intact even when washed over with water. While highly water-resistant, the ink may still smear or bleed on some papers if heavily saturated with water. For best results, use absorbent paper and allow the ink to cure for at least 24 hours before exposing it to moisture.

Because this is a pigmented ink, regular pen maintenance is important. The ink should not be allowed to dry out inside a pen, and weekly cleaning is recommended to help prevent clogging. Some pens may handle pigmented inks better than others.
