Dried luffas reveal a brilliant network of fibers that comprise nature’s perfect sponge. Be sure to provide sufficient support as vines can reach 30’ long. Ideal for an arch trellis. Annual.

• Soil: moist, well draining, warm soil

Instructions: Start seeds 6-8 weeks before you plan to plant them outside. Seeds need temperatures around 65-80ºF to germinate. Wait to transplant outdoors until soil is warm and free from danger of last frost. Harvest sponges when luffas are brown and dry on the vine.
